Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Tanzania

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation is the government ministry principally responsible for water supply, water resources, and irrigation in Tanzania.

Offices are located in Dar es Salaam;^[1] the sitting Minister for Water and Irrigation is the Hon. Prof. Mark Mwandosya (MP).^[2]

Operations and organization

The work of the Ministry is divided into Core Function, having to do with water and irrigation; and Support Function, having to do with administrative work. Core Function currently includes the following divisions:

• Water Resources Management Division
• Commercial Water Supply and Sewerage Services Division
• Community Water Supply Division
• Water Laboratory Unit
• Drilling and Dam Construction Agency
